Licensing, Training, and Support

  • How is LMS365 for SharePoint licensed? +

    LMS365, the SharePoint LMS, is licensed on a per-named-user basis. Because pulling users in and out of SharePoint on a regular basis increases administration costs, you should license the number of employees registered to use the LMS throughout a year (you don't need to name names). Licenses are provided in packages (e.g., up to 1000 users) to avoid having to upgrade your license due to small fluctuations in your user count.
  • What is the minimum purchase? +

    A 300-user license.
  • Can I get personal customer references? +

    We will be happy to put you in direct contact with a best-fit reference. To avoid unnecessary disturbance, however, we do so only after prospects have demonstrated a certain level of commitment and interest. Contact us to learn more.
  • Do you offer product training? +

    We can organize any type of product training you need—including focused, role-specific training for LMS administrators and content creators—and can customize it to meet your needs. Both on-site and remote training are available. Training is provided by ELEARNINGFORCE or one of its global partners.
  • Do you offer customization services? +

    Yes. The cost depends on 1) the scope and amount of hours and 2) whether it is a feature of general interest that would make sense to add to a future release (given that you'd be willing to wait). We have many resources available for custom efforts and are able to offer them at highly competitive rates.
  • What types of pricing models do you offer? +

    Annual License. Runs for 1 year at a time and automatically renews unless canceled by you. This license model includes technical support. Perpetual License. A lifetime model. Support is included for the first year only, and a support agreement must be renewed each year if you require access to new releases and our customer help desk. If the support agreement is canceled, it cannot be reinstated.
  • Can I have a free license for my non-production environment? +

    This is included with your license at no additional cost.
  • Do you offer a server license? +

    No. We have a user-based license model. Your license key is activated via a web application in your SharePoint farm. Contact us if you have specific requirements or licensing needs.
  • Do you offer an unlimited license? +

    We offer "campus" licenses for unlimited numbers of users.
  • Do you offer special pricing for Education, NFP, and public authority clients? +

  • How does technical support work? +

    Technical support is included in your annual fee. The perpetual license price includes support only for the first year. Technical assistance is offered via our support portal, which enables you to submit support tickets and and questions 24/7 from anywhere in the world. Phone support is available from our US competency center during normal US business hours.
  • What are the system requirements? +

  • What kinds of training does LMS365 SharePoint support? +

    State-of-the-art online courses. Deliver media-rich, online training training including online content, test sessions, supporting materials, videos, etc. Publish courses in the searchable course catalog.

    Classroom-based training. List traditional, classroom-based training offerings in the course catalog with infomation that is relevant for each course (timetable, location etc).

    Blended learning. Combine the strengths of online and classroom-based training by creating an easy-to-follow course plan in the course catalog.

    Team-based training. Create courses that offer all the content and LMS tools you want and enhance training with a teamsite to enable collaboration during the training process. Mix in LMS365's SharePoint LMS competency and certification features and you'll be able to assess the skills and skill gaps of both individuals and teams.

  • Are learners able to un-enroll from courses? +

    Users can un-enroll themselves from courses easily by clicking on "Cancel". When a user cancels enrollment in a course, the user at the top of the waiting list for that course is automatically enrolled or receives a notification.

  • What kind of reporting does the system offer? +

    LMS 365 for SharePoint offers a wide spectrum of reporting capabilities. Reports can be scheduled and filtered by instructors and admins without the need for assistance from IT. Reports are typically built to provide e.g. weekly updates of new certifications, missing certifications, progress reports, tracking, time spent, etc. You can customize the reporting engine to create reports on all available fields. The Dashboard feature additionally provides learners and managers with a full overview of their status on a single screen. Anything that may be needed in addition can be built using the LMS365 for SharePoint API (the API is free).

  • How can we track instructors? +

    The Competency and Certification module provides a very advanced way to managing instructor competencies and certifications, and allows you to pinpoint exactly the right person for a given job. You can also compare the requirements of a specific role (a specific instructor task) with an instructor's current competencies and certifications.

  • Can managers access specific reporting for their teams? +

    The Dashboard page provides managers with a full overview of all relevant information about their employees across all LMS365 for SharePoint modules. The manager-team relationship can be managed directly or inherited from Active Directory.

  • What types of notifications are supported? +

    The registration and enrollment features allow you to configure notifications for almost anything. Add to this the native SharePoint features to get alerts and feeds on list. You can work with any number of email templates you wish and apply these throughout the system to provide reminders and notifications for any need.

  • How does the certification process work? +

    As an example, you can create a course with two tasks: a quiz and an assignment (submit to approval). You can put each into a separate learning path or combine them in a single learning path. The completion of the quiz and the approval of the assignment then automatically trigger the certification. The certificate can be configured to be automatically created and emailed upon completion if desired. Notification and reporting about the completion go to the appropriate persons.

    The entire process could be handled inside the LMS, but the competency and certification module adds an extra dimension of convenience and power because it allows you to link the certificate to your own competency taxonomy. This way, when a course is completed and a certification is obtained, the person's competencies are updated automatically.

    You can define the validity and expiration of certificates so that a specific person is automatically notified when a certificate is due for renewal or has expired.

    The LMS can auto-issue certificates based on course completion, employees are informed through the interface webparts and through e.g. recurring progress reports. Competencies are updated and the whole recertification workflow is automated.

  • What course authoring tools does SharePoint LMS provide? +

    Learning path. The learning path tool lets you structure existing materials into a modular training process. You can organize documents, videos, links, quizzes, assignments into a learning path and require learners to complete all steps to complete the whole module. The learning path tracks the progress of learners and allows them to resume training that is not yet complete.

    Quiz. The quiz tool lets you define questions and organize them into quizzes. Quizzes and questions can have their own settings (deadline for completion, requirements to pass, response feedback, etc.)

    Assignment. The assignment tool makes it possible to deliver tasks to learners and request submission of their work.

    Survey. Surveys allow users and the organization to evaluate course effectiveness. The survey uses the standard SharePoint survey feature.

    Third-party authoring tools can also be used to create SCORM packages and the system will track the results from these.

  • How is LMS365 for SharePoint installed? +

    LMS365, the SharePoint LMS, and its optional modules are installed as solutions in your SharePoint environment.

  • What SCORM versions are supported? +

    SCORM 1.2 and 2004. You can use any authoring tool to develop SCORM content as long as it outputs one of these version formats.
